The Word is a new independently run bookshop, catering for the students and staff of Goldsmiths College, University of London, and the local neighbourhood. As part of the fabric and community of Goldsmiths College, working in a collaborative relationship with the university, closely liaising with teaching staff and responding to students’ needs.
The Word aims to be part of Goldsmiths’ small but mighty close-knit and diverse community, embracing its entrepreneurial and creative spirit. Pop in or have a word.
Although it is the aim of the Bookshop to stock the majority of titles recommended by teaching staff, it will also be able to offer a fast and efficient ordering system for non-range titles, most of which can be obtained within 3-5 working days, and sometimes even next day. Most books in print in the UK can be sourced relatively easily.
If there’s a book you’re after, pop into the shop and order it, or email and we’ll either reserve a copy for you, if we have it in stock, or order it for you.
The Word’s return/exchange policy
If you buy a book in error and need to return it, we will either exchange it for another book, or issue a credit note.
You must return the book in mint condition within 14 days, together with the till receipt.
We do not accept credit/debit card counterfoils as proof of purchase.
THIS DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept any returns on Second Hand Books. These books are sold as seen and are the property of other students.
